QBE Re, the reinsurance division of global insurance group QBE, has appointed Montassar Cherrak as its Regional Head of Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
Montassar brings almost 30 years’ experience in the financial sector and has worked in reinsurance since 2005. He joins from SCOR SE, where he was Senior Underwriter and Client Relationship Manager for the Africa & Middle East region.
In this newly created role, Montassar will lead QBE Re’s underwriting strategy across the Middle East and North Africa, as the reinsurer looks to further develop its presence in the region with local expertise.
Based in Dubai, Montassar will report directly to Houcine Zouaoui, Head of Middle East & Africa (MEA) for QBE Re.
